Cefadroxil is a first-generation cephalosporin. Oral suspension: 250 mg/5 mL (100 mL), 500 mg/5 mL (75, 100 mL). Tablets: 1 g. Capsules: 500 mg. Adjust dose in renal failure (see Chapter 31). See cephalexin for precautions and interactions. Rash, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are common; transient neutropenia and vaginitis have been reported.
