Thioridazine is a phenothiazine antipsychotic indicated only for the treatment of schizophrenia that is refractory to standard antipsychotic therapy. Due to its risk of dose-dependent QTc prolongation and serious arrhythmias, its use is generally reserved for patients who have not responded adequately to other antipsychotic agents.
