Sucralfate is a basic aluminum salt of sucrose octasulfate used as a local mucosal protectant in the treatment and prevention of duodenal and gastric ulcers, stress ulcers, and for management of stomatitis and radiation proctitis. It is available as 1 g tablets and oral suspension 100 mg/mL (420 mL) containing sorbitol and parabens.
