Racemic epinephrine is a sympathomimetic agent used by inhalation for temporary relief of upper airway obstruction symptoms, most commonly croup. Over-the-counter solution for inhalation: 2.25% (1.25% epinephrine base) (0.5 mL ampules), typically supplied in boxes of 30. Contains edetate disodium and may contain sulfites.
